Questions
- Where is our data hosted?
On Google Cloud in the me-central1 region, in Doha, Qatar. Your records, evidence files, backups and audit-log exports stay in that region, and so does your sign-in data. TODO(Miles): confirm residency wording
The one exception is AI suggestions. When they are switched on, the text needed for a suggestion is sent to our AI model provider. This is disclosed in the data processing agreement, and you can switch it off for your firm.
- Does Kompendra use AI on our data?
Only to make suggestions, and only if AI is switched on for your firm. Kompendra can suggest monitoring tests, map policies to requirements and summarise long evidence. Each suggestion uses only your firm’s data. A person accepts, edits or rejects every suggestion, and that decision is recorded. Nothing is approved or filed automatically.
- What is the contract term?

- How long does onboarding take?
Onboarding covers setting up your entities and licences, marking which requirements apply, loading your policies and controls, and building your first monitoring plan. How long it takes depends on how many entities and licences you bring. TODO(Miles): typical onboarding time
- Can we move across from our spreadsheets?
Yes. You upload your policies as documents, and Kompendra suggests which requirements each one addresses, quoting the supporting passage, for you to accept or reject. Your control list and monitoring plan are then set up against those requirements. A self-service CSV import for any register is on the roadmap. - Who owns the data?
You do. You can export any register or report to PDF and CSV at any time. If you leave, you receive an export of all your data. Retention follows the rule you set, and any deletion after it is a logged action. TODO(Miles): confirm contract wording on data ownership
- Can our auditors or our regulator see our records?
Yes, if you choose. Kompendra has read-only Auditor and Regulator roles. Both are time-boxed, and Regulator access is limited to the pack you share. You can also export a regulator pack: the selected records and their evidence in one ZIP file with an index PDF.
- Which regulators do you cover?
VARA first. FSRA and DFSA content follows in the same structure, and further regulators are added as content, not as custom code. See Frameworks for the current status of each. TODO(Miles): confirm coverage at launch
